first day of school pictures!

Alright mamas its that time again...first day of school pictures can be a great way to capture the start to your kiddos new adventure! Here are a few tips on how to help snap your memories a little easier.

plan ahead
Everything goes a little easier when you have a plan. Plan to take your pictures a week or two before school starts. Heck, even a week or two after. Its ok we wont tell :) This will give you time to think through your outfit choices, locations, and props.

choose a background
Lets kick the boring first day of school pic in front of the front door down!!! Figurativily not literally:) Lets face it, you know you dont have time to clean it up:) Take advantage of what is at your fingertips and head outside. Mother nature can provide some of the best backdrops.

Posing
Run, skip, jump. Dont think of posing as a static thing, Keep your eye on their every move and you may see them do something you'd like them to do again as a foundation for a pose.

Props
Props can sometimes make or break a picture so think simple and clean. A couple of vintage books or a fun cute lunch box can make for a cute picture.

All Things Lovely

Little lovelies is a blog about all things homeschool. Whether it is our curriculum, projects, classroom, ect we love to try and think outside the box. When  my sister and I decided to homeschool we wanted to create something that our kids would look back at one day with fond memories. We will share simple ways to take the ordinary and transform it into something extraordinary. Here are the two little stinkers that started our homeschooling adventures. Elijah is a seven year old that is so full of life and loves adventure. Fear seems to be something very foreign to him which might be one of our favorite things about him. He loves sweeter than anyone else I know and is right there to ask God for something on your behalf. "God please pray for my Moms soar throat" or "God please give my Papa a safe drive to work." You name it and he is praying for it! This little guy makes homeschooling a fun, silly, and sometimes a challenging experience  but we wouldn't change it for anything in the world. Expect for maybe a hot cup of coffee in total peace and quiet!! Gracie is a silly little five year old with the best smile. She loves to collect anything from rocks to rubber bands and EVERYTHING in between. Her heart loves adventure but her head tells her she is afraid. A battle we are currently working on with her.  She has a sensitive and soft spirit. She is thoughtful and sometimes feisty.  She is eager to learn and loves making projects. Homeschool and her seem to just be a good fit.
